His work has so much life, and they ended up being a great inspiration for the finished film. Even Frank Thomas said once that Joe had a lot to do with what was great about Lady & the Tramp.

Even though I don’t personally agree with all of his top decisions
(or many of them), the fact that the writer and magazine took the time to appreciate Walt Disney’s legacy, from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to Wreck-it Ralph, and choose those key moment that display amazing craftsmanship in animation, as well as loving and lasting characters and memories is amazing.

HOMAGE TO FRANK THOMAS
Frank Thomas was one of Walt Disney’s team of animators known as the Nine Old Men.
He was a Disney Legend, and did quite a team when paired with Milt Kahl in scenes such as the witchcraft duel in The Sword in the Stone or the I Wanna Be Like You scene in The Jungle Book.
He was best friends with fellow animator Ollie Johnston and created lovable and transcendent characters and scenes like the ones above, thus creating a spot for him in the history of animation for which he will always be remembered.
