As a treat for people coming to the all-nighter, a Monstrous Morning Meet-Up will begin at 4:30 a.m. on May 24, and it will include the opportunity to see an early preview screening of Disney Pixar’s new film “Monsters University” before it opens in theatres in 3D on June 21 plus a few surprises!

More on Mike Wasowski’s announcement of April 25th about starting the “Monstrous Summer” with a 24-hour “All-Nighter” in honor of Monsters University.  Magic Kingdom, Disneyland and Disney California adventure to be open 24 hours the 24th! (24/24)- (X)

Just seconds ago, a 180-foot-tall Mike Wazowski made the official announcement that they’re keeping three theme parks open for 24 hours on Memorial Day Weekend.

MONSTERS UNIVERSITY CHARACTERS

The personalities and arcs of the characters were no easy task, there are thousands of sketches establish every shot of “Monsters University” done by the team. They did a total of 227,246 drawings, more than any other Pixar film to date. 

The stern Dean Hardscrabble (voiced by Helen Mirren) wasn’t easily pinned down. Writers had to play with different ideas to arrive at what would make a dean of scare-ing… scary. “Dean Hardscrabble was originally a male, and he just came in and did a lot of yelling and screaming and it didn’t really intimidate you. It’s a kind of quiet reserved judgement that really sends the chills up your spine,” Mann says of one of his favorite MU characters.
