The Story of two Princesses

In the latest animated Disney Musical based on Hans Christian Andersen’s fairytale, The Snow Queen, we follow the story of two sisters; Anna and Elsa.

Princess Anna (voiced by Kirsten Bell) starts a journey through an icy and frozen Norway to end her sister’s curse, the Snow Queen (aka. Elsa who is voiced by fabulous broadway artist and tony-award winner Idina Menzel, who is no stranger to voicing and performing as a disney character as she played Nancy in Enchanted).

Joined by a rugged, thrill-seeking outdoorsman, his one-antlered reindeer and a hapless snowman, Anna must race against time, conquer the elements and battle an army of menacing snowmen if she ever hopes to melt her frozen heart.

This plot mied with amazing artists, director Chris Buck, producer John Lasseter and broadway composers Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez sure create a mix for success, right?

FROZEN RECORDINGS HAVE ALREADY STARTED

It has been confirmed that Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel have started recording songs and scenes for the upcoming Disney film, Frozen. The Tony Award winner, Idina Menzel, is again, to be part of a disney film (the first one being Enchanted). She will be voicing the lead character and villain of the film, Elsa, The Snow Queen. She has already recorded with Kristen Bell the song Wind Beneath Wings, composed by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson Lopez.

FROZEN to come to theaters next year

This CGI film produced by Walt Disney Animation studios will be in theaters November 2013, and has already a cast and crew!

The film will be directed by Chris Buck (Tarzan, Enchanted) and is an adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s The Snow Queen . The project is being overseen by Pixar’s chief John Lasseter, as many CGI Walt Disney Pictures films. The story is about a kingdom cursed in an eternal winter as said by a prophecy, so Anna (Kristen Bell) must join Kristoff to find the Snow Queen, Elsa, played by Idina Menzel (Nancy Tremaine in Enchanted), so they can put end to the spell.

The songs and music score is being written by Tony winners Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez.

I’m just sad the film’s music is not being done by my fave disney composer, Alan Menken, anymore. He wrote a song called Love Can’t be Denied performed by Bryan d’Arcy James back when the project was called The Snow Queen and before it was aborted. Idina Menzel’s character in Enchanted is called Nancy Tremaine, after Cinderella’s stepmother Lady Tremaine.
