Did you get to attend the Disney Dreamers Everywhere “Step into a Disney Story” event? If not you would have stepped into the circus with Ringmaster Mickey, Dumbo, and friends, from the 1994 series!
Imagine that! A Dumbo appearance, not something you get to see quite often.
2D MERIDA OFFICIALLY RETIRED
Disney finally pulled the plug with the eleventh Disney Princess’s 2D look after the huge number of complains and criticism (including a 200 000 signatures in change.org) they got.
Brenda Chapman (director and writer for Brave) was one of the people completely against the makeover, saying she Merida was “sexed up”. “…look at the attitude. Look at how she’s posed. Look at how much tinier her waist is and how much bigger her boobs are. Look at the off the shoulder dress.” -she said in an interview with A Mighty Girl. Other criticism aims to the fact that her look went from a round-faced child-like one, to an hour-glass womanly look.

Personally, I do think they are glittering and sexing her up a bit which is not a good role-model for kids, but I don’t think their intention is for girls to want to look like her, it’s just about making her more appealing in the merchandise. Also, putting her in 2D makes her not stand out in a weird way with the rest, like they did with Rapunzel; it’s just logical. If they have made such a fuzz with Merida, what’s stopping them going after Punzie next? I think this has been blown way over proportion.
What are your thoughts about this?

THE INCREDIBLES 2 ON ITS WAY
Brad Bird, director and writer for The Incredibles (and Edna Mode’s voice) has declared to be getting ready for the film’s sequel. He admitted it was because “he loves those characters and their world”. He has already thought of many elements he thinks would work great for The Incredibles 2, but has to first finish Walt Disney Pictures’ Tomorrowland with George Clooney and Hugh Laurie, which will be released December 2014. This could mean that the film could be coming in 2016 or 2017.

THEATER IN THE WILD
In 1998, Theater in the Wild opened its doors and has been home to three big Disney shows at the Animal Kingdom parc.
Originally , it was an open-air amphitheater and its debut was with the show Journey into the Jungle Book, a 30-minute stage show with Mowgli, Baloo and King Louie retelling the story with songs.
Then in July 1999, Tarzan Rocks! took over the theater. It was a spectacular musical with dancers, singers and gymnasts with all the characters and music of the movie. I remember seeing this show myself in my second trip to WDW (I don’t remember much of my first as I was quite young).
Now, the theater is home to the Finding Nemo- The Musical, a musical with amazing costumed, transporting the guest to the undersea adventure.
No plans as to what is going to be the next show to take over the theater, but continuing the tradition, it will be amazing when the time comes.
