TODAY, MOWGLI IN ANIMAL KINGDOM

Mowgli will be meeting intermittently throughout the day at the Oasis in Disney’s Animal Kingdom and at the front of the park. Sources say he might be accompanied by Baloo as well!

It’s a good chance for you to take a picture with a character we do not see in the parks as often.

VINTAGE MAGIC KINGDOM PARADES

To celebrate the announcement of a the new Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade coming to Magic Kingdom Park in 2014, here is a few of parades to remember through the years.

1. America on Parade ran from June 1975 until September 1976 and celebrated the Nation’s bicentennial with a lot of red, white and blue. Below, Mickey, Goofy and Donald get in on the patriotic fun.

2. In October 1986, 15 Years of Magic started to roll down Main Street, U.S.A., celebrating the 15th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort. Here we see Mickey and Minnie in their ’80s best joining in on the fun!

3. In the summer of 1994, the Mickey Mania parade hit the streets celebrating the one and only Mickey Mouse. Check out the life-size Mickey gloves and ear hat.

4.The Walt Disney World Resort’s 25th Anniversary parade, Remember the Magic. Ready to grant three wishes, The Genie travels down Main Street, U.S.A., along with Aladdin and Jasmine. I even have the music of that parade in my files somewhere. Im going to try find it, and then post if, if anyone’s interested and remembers that incredible parade!

Walt Disney World’s Costuming department has 2 1/2 million garments (pieces).  Talk about how big a closet they must have!

ALICE IN WONDERLAND FACE CHARACTERS

I was never too fond of these characters from watching the movie, because frankly, when I watched this film growing up it scared me so bad! After meeting the face characters it all changed! They all have incredibly funny attitudes and can really make your day. They are hilarious and sweet.
