THE BLUE UMBRELLA - REVIEW
This short had me amazed as soon as it started. I thought they made a mistake and after the pixar logo appeared, I thought they put a trailer for another movie, because the shots of the city were too realistic to be CGI. But it was!
It was flawless; the city came to life! Finding the faces in every spot and how the city helped the blue umbrella find its way. The metaphor of the city coming to life to help you. I loved it.
I loved the fact that in the end,the two people met, thanks to the umbrellas. Also, the fact that the rain boots matched the umbrella’s colours. The final shot where the umbrellas where in place of the heads, and it seemed that it was their bodies and that it was them in fact having the date. It was always about the umbrellas, and that was emphasized. The camera shots were perfectly framed to portray them as the protagonists. Its was just PERFECT.
The only bad thing was that the kids wouldn’t stop talking, thinking maybe this was another trailer. Bad move, kids. Appreciate the art in front of you.
